Office of the Superintendent Overview

The Superintendent is the District's top administrator who is hired by the Board of Education.

The Superintendent oversees FUSD's three main branches: Instructional Services, Business Services and Human Resources.

Superintendent CJ Cammack joined Fremont Unified School District in August 2020, bringing broad experience in TK-12 education: he began as an elementary teacher, moved into leadership roles ranging from Special Education to Human Resources, and was Superintendent in Martinez Unified School District before moving to FUSD. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on the health and safety of students and staff, successful collaboration with families and labor partners, fiscal leadership, and building positive relationships throughout the community.
