Fremont PD Invites Students to 'Shop with a Cop'
The City of Fremont Human Services Department and Fremont Police Department joined forces to kick off the Holiday Season in a special way for some lucky FUSD students.
Approximately 20 students representing elementary schools throughout the District were selected to participate in the 13th-annual 'Shop With A Cop' program, sponsored by the Fremont Police Officers Association, Mission San Jose Rotary and Target Stores, December 7th. The purpose of this event is to give students the opportunity to purchase holiday gifts for his or her family. Kids were picked up at their schools by a Fremont Police Officer and driven in a Police patrol car to the Fremont HUB Target. At the store, students were given gift cards to purchase the family’s gifts, which were then wrapped and labeled by volunteers. Games, crafts, food and fun were all part of the day, including breakfast and lunch before returning to school to finish the day.
Our thanks to everyone associated with the event for creating a special day and memory for our students!
