Refrain from touching your face
Stop touching your face (eyes, nose, and mouth)
- Your face contains multiple pathways for infections to enter your body.
- Face-touching is a natural human habit and it can be difficult to reduce.
- We are conditioned to touch our faces because it signals public self-awareness.
- Take a flexible approach - don't stress too much over it.
- Keeping your hands occupied - like a stress ball or fidget toy.
- Watch for nail biting and other triggers.
- Ask a "buddy" to point it out – use a code word.
- Setting a phone timer to actively remind yourself can help.
