New this year, the curriculum created for FUSD's Elementary Summer Academy in ELA and Math will include environmental education throughout the five-week program.

Mission San Jose High School’s Smoke Signal student newspaper received an award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association for its digital news published during the 2020-21 school year.

Denise Klawitter is FUSD’s 2022 Classified Employee of the Year, and the Alameda County Classified Employee of the Year - Paraprofessional!

On June 1, seven FUSD students were named 2022 National College-Sponsored Merit Scholarship winners; additional recipients of college-sponsored awards will be announced in July.

FUSD celebrates our outstanding 2021-22 retirees; these 107 outstanding employees represent over 2,100 years of service! 

The Mission San Jose High School boys tennis team won the North Coast Section (NCS) title, and earning a spot at the State Championships for NorCals.

Approximately half of FUSD’s schools have gardens. Students are digging into these green spaces and learning to nurture plants and in some cases learning to grow food, and educators are connecting this work to instruction about climate literacy, solutions and action.

A team of six current and former FUSD students won this year’s Garrett Morgan Sustainable Transportation Competition, a national contest for middle school students.

FUSD is proud to name Cabrillo Elementary’s Christy Taylor as its 2022 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Taylor was selected from an outstanding group of nominees representing FUSD schools....

Students across Fremont Unified School District are working toward a greener future by leading efforts to divert food waste and recyclables from landfills, and laying a foundation for their efforts to reach future students.
