Topics (A through M) provide information for parents/guardians to start and complete the enrollment process. When communicating with FUSD Staff please use the Topic Letter to help direct your questions.

  1. Announcements (updated 8/3/2020) 

    2020 - 2021 Enrollment is now open. See Topic H and Topic I below for instructions.
    ► Placement Letters continue to be mailed home weekly, arriving before 8/26/2020.
    ► Secondary Enrollment (Middle, Junior and High School) begins with the school registrar. Enter your home address to identify your school: School Locator.

  2. Enrollments (Elementary students starting August 2020) will be completed virtually. Confirm Topic C and D then see Topic H.

  3. Getting Started - Student Support Services Office is at 4210 Technology Drive - centralized Elementary Enrollment.
    School Locator use your address to get a sense of what school and attendance area you may be assigned with no guarantee of home school.

  4. Who can Enroll: Prerequisites
    Students must be living full-time in Fremont, CA at the time of enrollment.
    Students must be 5 years of age on or before September 1st of the current year to enroll in Kindergarten. Current Chart of Grades for School Year 2019/2020.
    Kindergarten classes are 3 hours in length. AM or PM assignments are determined by the school.

    A student cannot be enrolled in an FUSD school for the current school year if they are currently enrolled in another public or private school for the current school year.

  8. Elementary How to Enroll 2020-21 School Year - Grades TK (Transitional Kindergarten) through Grade 6 (Students starting school August 2020). In following social distancing protocols, enrollments will be completed virtually. More information (2020-2021 Enrollment).
  9. Secondary How to Enroll Grade 7 through Grade 12 for 2020-2021 - Please visit your home secondary school website then under Contacts & Resources for Registrar/Enrollment/Registration. If you are not sure which school is your home school, use School Locator.
  10. Lottery and Wait Lists - Elementary schools participate in a Kindergarten lottery/wait lists when more Kinder students are enrolled than available space. Overload Complaint Form (pdf).
  11. Vaccine / Immunization Update 5/20 - Important information current requirements and no Personal Beliefs Exemptions.
  12. Transitional Kindergarten Program Information - PLEASE NOTE Initial grade placement of enrolling students shall be based on chronological age (BP 5111).
  13. Science Magnet - Mattos Elementary offers opportunity to transfer into a science program. Admission is based on available space.
  14. 2018-2019 Before/After School Child Care Providers Not operated by FUSD. Providers are subject to change.
