Computer Lab - Room 60 0 1 257 1467 FUSD 12 3 1721 14.0
It is a privilege for me to be part of the Warm Springs Elementary staff as the Computer Specialist for the 2015/16 school year.
The backpacks of today’s college students contain more than pencils, paper and books. This Computer Lab course introduces the hardware and software skills necessary to succeed in the 21st Century classroom. The emphasis of this course is hands-on applications of computer software. Provides the opportunity for the student to utilize learned course competencies in a real life setting, to review and extend their knowledge on typing, Google drive (documents, spreadsheets, and presentations), coding and other computer software.
Computer lab rules:
• Enter quietly, take a seat, and listen attentively to instructions
• Keep voices at an appropriate volume
• Stay on task
• Be respectful to people, machines, and materials
• Clean up
The class time will be divided between three important activities that students will perform every week during lab time, as:
• 15 – 20 min – typing (typing.web)
• 15 – 20 min – projects (google drive)
• ~15 min – coding (code.org)
Note: The time is for references only. The activities will be adjusted to meet students’ need for class and/or other activities that need computer support or preparation in advance.
