    PARTICIPANTS NEEDED

     

    Finals Schedule:  Please remember you must be at school by 8:00 AM on Wednesday, June 14. This day is not a late start this week.

     

    We have lots of lost items, jackets, swim gear, glasses waters bottles, keys, lunch boxes and more!!

    Please help us out in the gym quad to return all items to owners,

    everything will be donated on June 13th that is not claimed. 

     

    Seniors: As a part of the Senior check out process, you will need to complete BOTH the Graduation Survey and Class of 2017 Senior Exit Survey on Naviance. Check your Schoolloop messages for directions on how to access the surveys. Once you complete the surveys, bring your senior check-out form to your counselor to be signed.  Your senior check-out form must be signed off by your counselor by TUESDAY, JUNE 13TH before Senior Check-Out Day.  

     

    The book room will be open the following hours: Monday (12th): The book room will be open all of lunch and after school for 15 minutes.

    Next Tuesday-Thursday: The book room will be open each day after school for 20 minutes

     

    LOCKER CLEAN OUT

     Locker clean out will begin immediately after the morning final (Thursday, June 15).  There will be garbage cans located at every locker wing for trash, and plastic bags held by Leadership students for recyclable materials.
    If you do not clean out your locker, your lock will be cut and your belongings will be thrown away!

    News from the College & Career Center:

    Seniors: Reminder:  Be sure to send your AP scores to your college (4 year and community colleges). Check your CollegeBoard account to see which scores you’ve sent and which you still need to send. This can be done in July after you have all of your scores.

    Juniors: With the release of the essay prompts and the announcement that student accounts created now will roll over to 2017-2018, Juniors can start their Common App now, or whenever they are ready.     Junior Girls:
      The STAR $2,500 Scholarship is offered to an outstanding 12th grade woman. To meet the deadline, we want to alert 11th grade girls before this school year is over. They interview all eligible candidates, and the selected one must complete an extensive online application process.  Every applicant must submit drafts of academic and extracurricular achievements and two reference letters.  To apply for the scholarship, contact Karen McCready: kmccready60@yahoo.com Respond by July 1st to allow time to complete all the application requirements before the interviews in mid-September 2017.

    Work Permits:  The last day to apply for a Work Permit through the College & Career Center is Monday, June 12th, which is needed if you have been hired for a job & are under 18 years old

     Applying for 2017 SUMMER WORK PERMITS after June 12th

    June 26 – Aug 3, 2017, Monday – Thursday, 8 AM - 1:00 PM. Apply at Irvington High School Summer School Office  No School: June 30, July 3, 4, 14, 21, 28

    August 7 - 25, 2016 8 AM - 1:00 PM. Apply at the Secondary Education Office, Fremont Unified School District -     4210 Technology Dr., Rm. 212

    August 29th Work Permits will be issued through the MSJHS College & Career Center

    The following process must be followed in order to obtain a work permit after June 12th:

    Complete the work permit application.  This document is available at the front desk of the Fremont Unified School District or may be downloaded here Work Permit Request .

    Follow the instructions on the form.  The completed application should be signed by the student, parent and employer then submitted with the following items:

    Original Social Security Card & a Picture ID (School or California ID, California Driver’s License, Current School Yearbook, Passport)

    After submitting the completed application and necessary documents, the work permit will be available for pick up the following processing by that site.

    Only the student (not a parent/guardian or friend) may pick up the permit as the student’s signature is required to complete the process. 

    THE WORK PERMIT IS VALID FOR THE SUMMER ONLY, must be re-applied each school year, as needed.  One work permit per employer is required by the State of California.

     

    Volunteers are still needed for the Fremont Relay for Life event on June 24th, 2017 at the California School For the Deaf, 39350 Gallaudet Dr, Fremont, CA, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. 
    Volunteers are needed for set up, working the different tables (Sign In, Car Show, Luminary Sales, Memory Tent, Survivors Tent, and Kids Zone), etc.
