Welcome. Information for parents/guardians to start and complete the enrollment process. It is important to follow through with each section below - from Who to When to How.

    Secondary Open Enrollment Lottery
    Monday, May 7, 2018 through noon on Friday, May 11, 2018
    Open with limited space: Walters, Hopkins, Kennedy and Mission

    UPDATE: Kindergarten Enrollment Lottery information will not be posted at school sites on May 4
    Rather, all families will be notified by USPS by May 15 on student's status.

    2018-2019 Kindergarten Lottery Update - The following schools will be going into Lottery to determine which students get in. Ardenwood, Azevada, Brier, Durham, Forest Park, Glenmoor, Hirsch, Maloney, Millard, Niles, Oliveira, Parkmont, Patterson, Vallejo Mill, and Warwick.

    The 2018-2019 Elementary Enrollment Application Packet is now available online.  Please see "How to Enroll - Directions" below for the 3 Steps enrollment process.  Be sure to click on School Year 2018-2019 for the correct application packet.

    Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year has ended.  Kindergarten through 6th Grade Enrollment for 2017-2018 will continue through 6/12/2018.  No appointment will be made for current school year (2017-2018) enrollment which is by Walk Ins only.  Please note that your child must be dis-enrolled from his/her previous school and must start school in Fremont the day after enrollment.  Please see "How to Enroll" below for additional information on our enrollment process. Please refer your questions regarding school placement with a Student Support Services representative.

    Vaccine Update - Effective January 1, 2016, Personal Beliefs Exemptions will no longer be an option for the vaccines that are currently required for entry into school or child care in California. Personal belief exemptions filed at a school or child care facility before January 1, 2016 will remain valid until the student enrolls in the next grade span, typically at TK/kindergarten or 7th grade. Grade spans are childcare, TK through 6th grade, and 7th through 12th grade.

    School Wait Lists - Elementary schools participate in a Kindergarten lottery when more Kinder students are enrolled than available space. More information about school wait lists and overloads


Who can Enroll - Prerequisites

• Students must be living full-time in Fremont, CA at the time of enrollment.

• Students must be 5 years of age on or before September 1st of the current year to enroll in Kindergarten.

Student birthday date range:

9/2/2011 – 9/1/2012: Enroll in Kindergarten for 2017-2018 school year.
9/2/2012 - 12/2/2012: Eligible for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for 2017-2018 school year.
9/2/2012 – 9/1/2013: Enroll in Kindergarten for 2018-2019 school year.
9/2/2013 - 12/2/2013: Eligible for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for 2018-2019 school year.

PLEASE NOTE Initial grade placement of enrolling students shall be based on chronological age (BP 5111 [↗]).

• A student cannot be enrolled in an FUSD school for the current school year if they are currently enrolled in another public or private school for the current school year.

Step 1: Complete an enrollment application. See multiple page pdf file below.

Please complete all fields. Complete the entire application (The Physician Complete page of the Health History Exam Form and Oral Health Assessment Form DO NOT need to be completed prior to your appointment; ALL OTHER FORMS DO) AND print a hard copy. You will bring this hard copy to your enrollment appointment.

If you have more than one student you wish to enroll, you will need to complete one enrollment application per student.

If you are applying for the Language Immersion Program or the Science Magnet Program, please download an application for the specific program and return the completed application to Student Support Services at 4210 Technology Dr. in Room 160, Mondays - Fridays between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Be sure to turn in your application on or before any applicable deadline(s).

Select a service - READ CAREFULLY - Enrollment or Declaration of Residency
Enter Parent/Guardian name, phone # and email address.
Enter Student name, date of birth, and home address in the Additional Info. field.

Step 3: Arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment time at 4210 Technology Drive, Room 160 with printed application and additional verification documents (A-D) listed below.

A. Proofs of Residency:
Evidence of residency may be established by documentation showing the name and address of the parent/guardian within the District, including, but not limited to, two (2) of the documents listed below (Education Code 48204.1 [↗]). The name of the parent/legal guardian coming to enroll should be on the residency documents, and documents must be current dated within 30-45 days.

  1. Current property tax statement, current mortgage statement, or final close of escrow letter
  2. Rental property contract, lease, or payment receipt
  3. Current utility service contract, statement, or payment receipt
  4. Current pay stub
  5. Voter registration
  6. Correspondence from a government agency
  7. Declaration of Residency executed by the student's parent/guardian
  8. If the student is an unaccompanied youth as defined in 42 USC 11434a [↗], a declaration of residency executed by the student
  9. If the student is residing in the home of a caregiving adult within district boundaries, an affidavit executed by the caregiving adult in accordance with Family Code 6552 [↗].
  10. Information to determine if you are in need of a Caregiver Affidavit and/or a Declaration of Residency.
B. Birth Verification: Birth Certificate or Passport

C. Current immunization records with first & last names, date of birth, dates of all shots given, physician stamp for each shot. If immunization record has been transcribed, physician must provide stamp for each and all shots. Immunization Guide (pdf)

D. Parent/Guardian’s Identification - state issued ID or passport

Step 2: No appointment will be made for current school year (2017-2018) enrollment which is by Walk Ins only. Please go to Student Support Services in Room 160 at 4210 Technology Drive between 8:00 am and 2:30 pm, Mondays-Fridays (except observed holidays).

Required documents include a completed application packet per student, as well as the additional verification documents described in Step 3 below. Please note that your child must be dis-enrolled from his/her previous school and must start school in Fremont the first school day after completion of enrollment.

Step 3: Arrive at 4210 Technology Drive, Room 160 with completed application packet and additional verification documents (A-D) listed below.

A. Proofs of Residency:
