October 17th, 1:45pm - Due to deteriorating air quality in our area, we have restricted outdoor activity for the remainder of the day. All outdoor, after-school activities and sports practices are cancelled or moved indoors if possible. Contact your school principal or coach with any questions.
We had a visit from the Fremont Police Department this week. For safety, we will now have to create a new traffic pattern. All cars entering both school loops will have to turn right into the loops from Leslie Street. No left turn into the loops will be allowed starting on Monday, Oct. 2nd. Please drive to the school from Paseo Padre thru Baylis Street or from Fremont Blvd thru Eugene St. Do not block entry into the loops and remember that school buses have priority. This will be enforced:
7:45-8:45 am on school days
12:45-1:45 pm on Wednesdays
2:00-3:30 pm on school days
We need everyone’s cooperation. This information is posted in the newsletter. Please inform daycare providers and other adults who will drive to the Durham Campus to pick up your students. Thank you!
Durham is well known for our ability to accelerate the academic performance of our students while providing a nurturing environment for learning. Our highly trained teachers are skilled at setting rigorous academic goals for students. Read More

The District is considering a proposal to make Walters JH a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) Magnet school when it transitions to a middle school (6-8) in 2018-2019. Integral to this process is parent feedback. Please use the link below to complete this brief survey offering your perspective on this proposal.
