Parent Education Meetings

Parent Education Meetings will happen periodically.  Currently they are scheduled to occur the second Wednesday of the month, but be sure to check the newsletters and flyers for further information. Meetings run from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm with child care provided by our teachers and staff.  Each meeting focuses on topics to help your childs learning. We encourage everyone to attend.

Volunteers

We can always use help from volunteers.  Please check with your child's teacher about opportunities.  Watch for notices that come regarding Glankler events.  GSPA welcomes volunteers as well.

Disaster Preparedness at Glankler Early Learning Center

We need to be prepared to take good care of your children under any circumstance so we need to prepare for a disaster. We have emergency classroom supplies for each class which have to be replenished each year. Please read the attached flyer and send in supplies as soon as you can. If an earthquake occurs please follow these guidelines:

What a parent should do after an earthquake:

  1. Be calm
    • Do not phone the school
    • Care for yourself and your home first. Your child will be cared for until you arrive at school.
    • Be prepared for after-shocks
  1. Walk
    • Bring you identification
    • If you are close to school, walk rather than drive
    • Dont use your phone for anything except emergencies
    • When you arrive at school go to the command station in the front of the school near the flagpole.
  1. Sign a emergency release form
    • Before taking your child, show your identification at the command station.
    • Sign the release form. Your child will not be released until you sign the release form. Be patientthis will take time. If you take your child without signing the release from, needless worry, time and effort will be spend looking for your child.
    • The only other people able to take your child from school are those listed on the Disaster Release from. Please keep it up to date.
    • Give copies of this letter to those who are authorized to pick up your child so they know the procedure.

Thank you.
