Welcome Brier community to the 2012-2013 school year. I am excited to begin my second year as the principal of Brier Elementary School. We are looking forward to another year committed to student achievement where excellence, high expectations, collaboration, character education, and continuous improvement are the focus of our entire staff. I believe strongly that when students, teachers, parents, administration and suuport staff work together, students can and will succeed. I will put forth every effort to ensure students reach their academic and affective potential.

This year the district has embarked on an "Anti-Bullying Campaign" whose ultimate goal is to eleimate bullying in Fremont School. Here at Brier we take bullying very seriously. Providing a safe and healthy learning environment is our number one prioroty. We continue to use our Eight Gret Traits character education program to to help us build self-esteem and positive character. This year we have adopted the theme of "Bucket Fillers Build Successful Communities". We are encouraging staff and students to fill each other's buckets with kind words, acts of kindness, and positive thoughts.

Educate, Challenge, Inspire

Living up to Brier's motto is very important to our staff. The dedicated teachers analyze student data, plan and implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of our students. Intervention classes are offered during the day as well as after school to support our struggling students. The Brier Brainiacs program for grades 3-6 is a three hour after school program that assists students with homework and extends recreational and enrichment opportunities such as dance, karate, and art. At Brier we recognize the importance of parent volunteers and encourage all parents to become active participants in their child(ren)'s education.
