Upcoming Volunteering Opportunities*: *Students: Volunteering for PTSA is a safe and easy way to earn service learning hours. Donation drive- "RED BOX": Please drop off your donations in the "RED BOX" placed in the main office -The school plans to set up a student recreation center (in the cafeteria) where the students will be able to rent out the following items. Please donate generously (new and gently used items are welcome). Board Games, Basketballs, Footballs, Table Tennis equipment, etc. -The school plans to donate PCs to students in need. Working monitors are needed for this purpose. You may find some corporate donors for this item. Please drop off the monitors with your Counselor. Your membership dues* support PTSAs work in important activities such as: v Dances – We provide coat-check, hydration and snacks the four dances events. v Health and Safety - We stocks the emergency kits for each classroom. We also host a Personal Emergency Preparedness Seminar for the community. v Scholarships - We are proud to honor four IHS seniors with $500 scholarships. To be eligible, seniors must be members of the PTSA with joining date before November 30th.. v STAR Testing nourishment - To help students to meet the challenge of surpassing former test scores, we coordinate large donations from the community and parents to provide a light breakfast to every student during the week of STAR testing. v Teacher Appreciation - We appreciate the hard work that all the teachers and the staff do every day. We host several hospitality events to show our appreciation. v Technology - We provide financial support towards purchasing of a plagiarism detection tool that is used school wide - TurnitIn.com. *PTSA is a member of National PTA, a portion of our membership dues ($4.50) goes to National, State, District, and Fremont Council PTA.
