Vice Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am honored to be the Vice Principal of Hopkins Junior High School.  I was a beginning teacher here twelve years ago and it is wonderful to be back for my third year as the Vice Principal.  This is my thirteenth year in the Fremont Unified School District, most of which were spent at Centerville Junior High School.  I was a Spanish teacher at Centerville for five years and a counselor for four, one of which was spent as a transition counselor between Washington High School and Centerville.  My time here at Hopkins has been very rewarding.  I feel like I am working with the very best students, staff, and parent community anywhere.

The junior high level is where I have spent my entire career.  I enjoy working with junior high students and believe that this period of their lives is one of great opportunity, exciting change, and a few growing pains.  As the vice principal, I hope to assist them in navigating through this period safely and soundly, helping them to learn what it means to be a productive, happy and responsible citizen of their community and nation.  Given the caliber of the student body here, I am confident that my time here will continue to be very rewarding.

I know from experience the value of open communication among students, parents, and staff and will work to keep these lines of communication open so that we are all moving together towards our common goals. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time if you have concerns or questions.  I will be happy to assist you.

Best Regards,

Kade Petersen
