Dear Oliveira Community,

As we approach Thanksgiving, I always reflect on the many blessings that arebefore me.  At Oliveira we have manyblessings to be thankful for. We have the best faculty and staff there is,working so hard every day for the benefit of your children. We have a staff ofdedicated parent volunteers who have become an essential part of our dailyschool life. Best of all, we have your bright and talented children who areworking to and above their potential and are clearly proud to representOliveira Elementary School as they continue to SOAR to new heights.

November and December will be busy as were September and October! Inaddition to Parent/Teacher Conferences, we will be having a Family Movie Nighton November 16th –Please bring a non-perishable food item that willbe donated to the Tri-City Food Drive. Our Annual Centerville Train Depot Reading Night will take place onDecember 11th at 7pm.   Thisis also a time of giving and we are working with our local Fire Department onthe Toys 4 Tots Drive.  Please have yourchild bring a new, unwrapped gift to school during the weeks of November 26thand December 3rd.  The FireDepartment will be on our campus, December 11th to accept thesegifts and distribute where needed. Giving is a trait that is learned and will carry with these childrenforever.  The 8 Great Trait for the monthof December is Citizenship-children learning the value of contributing to “myschool, classroom and community.”

I want to personally thank all of you for the wonderful start to this schoolyear. We are growing by leaps and bounds because we are all working together. Icount everyone among you – students, parents, teachers, staff, and volunteers –among my blessings this Thanksgiving. I hope you have a restful and joyfulholiday with your loved ones.

And remember to…..

Go ona family adventure: read a book.  (A few book titles centered on Citizenship:Uncle Jed’s Barbershop by M.K. Mitchell, A Chair for my Mother byV. Williams and My Daddy was a Soldier by D. Ray

Sincerely,

Mrs. Anderson, Principal of the Oliveira Soaring Eagles
