Traffic Safety Program

The Traffic Safety Program is for dedicated adult volunteers who want to play an active role in keeping Niles School students safe as they walk or bike to and from school. Adult volunteers are trained as Traffic Safety crossing guards to guide children safely across the street and remind drivers of the presence of pedestrians at key crosswalks around Niles School. Crossing guards will be primarily stationed in front of the school at 2nd Street and E Street. 2nd and School Street may possibly be covered if there are enough adult volunteers.

For just 15 minutes before or after school, you can help create a pedestrian-safe environment for our students. If you are confident in giving clear verbal instructions, comfortable in working with the public, and care about our students safety, come join our Traffic Safety Team and make a great contribution to our school and community.
