Frequently Asked Questions:
This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
What day does my child have P.E.?
Check w/ your student and/or their planner.

Do I have to give Miss Nunes a written excuse note when necessary?

YES! I need a note from a parent or Dr. in order for your child to be excused
from participating in P.E. class. Parent note is "good" for only 3
consecutive school days, not P.E. days. I also need a doctor's note for any
chronic illnesses, such as for asthma. This is imperative so I can be aware
of student limitations or special needs for medication, etc.

What should my child wear for P.E.?

Comfortable clothes that will not prove to be embarrassing, confining, or
you're worried about getting dirty when we are active. Shoes (NO
boots, sandals, high heels, heelies etc.)Wear a lace up or
velcro "sneaker",tennis shoe, athletic type shoe or whatever you call them.
Low and rubber soled is important.

When can I spend my Dungeon $s ?    Mondays and Wednesdays @ 9:45 recess

When is Physical Fitness testing?

 Anytime between Feb-April

Are the students graded in P.E.?

Yes, but not in the traditional A,B,C,D,F system. In P.E. the students
receive an "O" for outstanding, "S" for satisfactory, "N" for needs to improve.

What is "Hug the Pole" ?

Very simply it's a "time-out" used when I feel a child needs time away from
the class in order to "settle down" or reflect on misbehavior.
