Hello,

 

My name is Gayathri Lakshmipathy and I have the privilege of being your child's teacher in 6th grade this academic year.

 

To give you a little background about me - I have an undergraduate degree in Biology and double Masters in Political Science and Public Administration. After getting my Doctorate in Public Administration I worked for six years as a Professor and a Researcher at the University level.

I have been a resident of Fremont since 1997 and live here with my husband, two sons and my year old Sheltie-Cali. My older son is ready to set off to UCLA this fall and my younger son is going to be a sophomore in IHS .

 

I decided to be a stay at home mom for a while after my two sons were born.Becoming a parent and volunteering in my children's classrooms and experiencing the joy it brought me made me decide to become a classroom teacher.  I went back to school and got my Teaching Credential from Cal State, Hayward. This is my tenth year as a teacher in FUSD and I can truthfully say I have enjoyed every minute of it!

 

Teaching to me is not just a profession but a passion. My goal in the classroom is to make learning not only enjoyable for every child but also accessible. When the children leave my class room at the end of the each school day I want every one of them to feel a sense of accomplishment and more importantly feel good about themselves. It is up to us - parents and teacher to ensure that this goal is achieved. I would greatly appreciate your support and participation both inside and outside the classroom to make this school year a happy and successful one for the children.
