Target REDcard + Take Charge of Education Program

Targets REDcard gives YOU a 5% discount on your Target purchases.
Enrolling in Targets Take Charge of Education program gives MSJHS 1% back on your purchases.

  1. Apply for Credit OR Debit REDcard
    Apply in store at Customer Service before checking out and call the 800# to immediately enroll so that your first purchase gives 1% to MSJHS (see Helpful Tips).

  2. Enroll. Sign up for Take Charge of Education and designate:

    • Target Credit Card® holders and Target Visa® Credit Card
      (Note: Target Visa Cards are no longer offered, but existing customers can still enroll in Take Charge of Education program.)

  3. Shop. Target will donate up to 1% of your REDcard purchases to MSJHS.*

    Target Donates:
    - 1% of all Target Visa Credit Card and Target Debit Card purchases made at a Target store or at Target.com
    - 1% of all Target Check Card purchases made at a Target Store
    - 1/2% of all Target Visa Credit Card purchases made outside of Target.
Helpful Tips
 
Applying for your card
  • Apply at Customer Service before you shop. You must have a Driver License with your CURRENT address.
  • You will be asked to enter your SSN, birth date, and phone # on the keypad.
  • Your will receive a register tape with a temporary id. This tape plus a valid photo id can be used as a temporary id for to make purchases until your new card arrives (usually within 1 week).


Making your first purchase count for MSJHS

  • If you are immediately approved, call the 800# at the bottom of your receipt to enroll in Take Charge of Education before you head to the register to make your purchase. Enrolling first so your first purchase will count for MSJHS.
  • The hotline will ask your name and the last 4 digits of your SSN to verify your identity. You can then tell the name of the school or ID number.
Extra Savings
When you use your REDcard to fill five prescriptions at Target Pharmacy, you'll earn 5% off a day of Target shopping. Add that to the 5% off you already get with your REDcard purchases, and watch the savings stack up.

Old Address on your Driver License
Save yourself some frustration, but you will need to be patient.
Download the online application (link below) and submit through US mail.
It will take approximately 2-4 weeks to receive your cards.
Cards are sent to the address on file (Address on your Driver License). Because of identity theft, credit cards are not forwarded by US mail. You can only change your address in writing. If your address is wrong, you may not get your statement in time leading to additional work, hassles and fees.
