Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have so many outstanding school programs and dedicated staff, teachers, and parents that continue to make us proud of Gomes.  Thank you to all for a successful Open House and Sixth Grade Science Camp.  Also, the STAR testing went smoothly because of everyone’s assistance.

Speaking of great teachers and staff at Gomes, I want to thank the parents and families of Gomes.  Today we honored and recognized our many beloved volunteers at a Coffee, Tea, and Treats Time.  These volunteers have made a significant difference in the lives of the Gomes students.  Your service is very much appreciated.  We thank you for filling our buckets all year long!

I would like to remind you that school is still in session and attendance is very important until the last day of school.  Students also need to continue their best Gomes behavior.  I would hate to see anyone miss out on what is in store for June learning and activities.

grade students will be conducted in the new Centralized Enrollment Center effective July 8, 2013.  Therefore, elementary school enrollment will end on Friday, June 14, 2013 and elementary schools will no longer enroll new students for the 2013/14 school.    For further information, please call (510) 657-2350 after June 17, 2013 and ask for the Centralized Enrollment Center.

AttentionParents of 6th Grade Students

For the 2013/2014 school year, California Law (AB 354) requires an additional immunization called Tdap in order for your student to advance to or enter 7th grade. The adolescent whooping cough/pertussis booster shot, (Tdap) must be given on or after age 7 to meet this requirement.

Valid proof must show: 1) type of shot given, 2) date, 3)provider’s signature/stamp

You can provide proof to Gomes School up until the last day of school.

If parents have not provided proof to their school by the first day of school, August 28,2013,

your studentwill NOT be allowed to attend.

For the second year, the Fremont Unified School District will be conducting an Annual Satisfaction Survey to help evaluate how well we are meeting your needs and the needs of your child(ren). Your candid answers to this survey will help evaluate our programs and help us to improve the academic achievement of students.
There are no right or wrong answers. It is important that we understand your opinions about the impact of District programs on your child(ren).
If you have more than one student in the District, please complete the survey for each student.
Your child(ren) will not be affected in any way by your responses to the survey. Survey responses will be collected and reported at the school level and we plan to share the results with the school and with the community this fall.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Dr. Deborah Sims, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction.
The online survey can be accessed at www.fremont.k12.ca.us/parentsurvey2013 .
There will be a kiosk at the reception desk at the District Office for those parents who don't have access to a computer.
Sincerely,
James Morris, Ed.D.
Superintendent

HELP DESIGN SCHOOLS OF THE FUTURE

Fremont schools are among the highest performing schools in the area. We work hard to provide our students the best learning environment with our limited facilities budget. Many of our schools are in need a major repair and modernization to prepare students for a 21st century education. On January 23, 2013, the Board of Education approved the development of a Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP) to guide facilities decisions for the next decade. The plan will help us make decisions about how to best use our funds and explore other funding sources such as a school bond campaign in 2014. Click HERE for more information.
